When I started mini-importation, I didn’t fully understand many things about the business. I started with less than #20,000, little training, some uncertainty lying behind some Faith that this business will work.

1. PRODUCT
I remember the time I was still new to this business. I was in a Facebook group, and the question most people always asked was: What product is selling hot now that I should import?

The truth is, knowing the right product to import is about the importer’s biggest headache. You are not sure which will sell fast, and which ones will not. You don’t want to import a product that you find difficult to sell 10 pieces in a month.

If you want to succeed in mini-importation, don’t be like some that will always wait for someone to tell them: Hey, this is the product that’s selling hot now. Import this or that.

You have to diligently LEARN the process of finding out which product(s) will sell at a point in time. Notice the emphasis on PROCESS, and RESEARCH. You have to do this yourself.

Here are a few guidelines to the type of products that you should look at:

a) Products that meet specific needs or solve specific problems. These type of products are mostly ever green products that millions of people use daily or every time. If you can identify goods that solve people’s needs, make life and work easier, you might have hit a goldmine in mini-importation.

b) Seasonal products: Some products sell at some time of the year than another. As a smart marketer, you must be able to leverage on seasons, festivals, celebrations, religious rites, and master products that will sell FAST at these times.

c) Sex and age group: Generally, females tend to spend more than males. If you know, you know. Also, you might want to focus on particular age groups such as children, teens, or adolescents, identify goods that they buy often and sell.
